Jana
I used to document my grandmother Jana ever since I started photographing. She has always devoted herself totally to me and to my camera. When she was diagnosed with cancer, our joint photography sessions became farewell meetings. This collection is the outcome of those meetings and the period which followed her death. In all, the project spanned over 1.5 years. Jana's last year in my life is represented through portraits that express my awareness of her temporal presence. The following six months after her death are represented through portraits of her intimate space of living, once warm and welcoming, and later abandoned and alienated.
